In 1892, The Houck family arrived and settled in Port Salerno, Florida. The Houck family was active in the birth of Florida’s Commercial Fishing industry. Houck ancestors played an important role throughout the great depression and the World Wars by providing millions with fresh seafood during the difficult times. As decades passed, the demand from the northern states for our local seafood grew. We realized that our local residents were being deprived of our great heritage. In 2009, Tausha and Marty Houck proudly introduced Tausha’s Seafood Market to the local public and brought our local seafood home once again.
Our seafood is caught and handled by only the most credited commercial fishermen that take unique pride in the quality of their seafood. When you enter Tasha’s Seafood Market, the first thing you will notice is that there are no “fancy” showcases (bacteria traps). Our fresh seafood is neatly packed in ice coolers maintaining a temperature below 34 degrees. The second thing that you will notice is that there is no smell. That’s right, fresh seafood does not smell!
For the past 5 years, Tausha’s Seafood Market has been voted Number 1 in the state by the F.F.C. for cleanliness, quality, and affordability. We invite you to come in, meet our family and friendly staff, and see why we are the best!
We look forward to meeting you.
